#GNU ICECAT BROWSER. SOFTWARE#
While the Firefox source code from the Mozilla project is free software, they distribute and recommend non-free software as plug-ins and addons. Its main advantage is an ethical one: it is entirely free software. Important differences between Mozillas Firefox and GNU IceCat is that IceCat has a focus on freedom and privacy. It aim to be based on the the current official release of Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR) with removal of trademarked artwork and proprietary components.

For users of Windows and Mac OS X, there is currently no version of GNU Icecat available. deb development packages can be tested from GNU IceCat is the GNU browser based on the same source code as Firefox. That documentation is pretty old, I'll be updating it pretty soon.Ĭurrent.
